this week found fields where 50 1 bushels of corn lust year were followed by a complete loss this year. Some fields that looked good from the road were found on examination to be com pletely riddled and the yield not half what had been expected. In this section, the corn borer was only four or five years old. but the farmers had neglected to fight it the first two or .three years, and now find themselves unable to get back to a full crop of corn.'' Officials from the corn borer control laboratory, at Auburn, will accompany the party next week, and the Decatur delegation will be allowed to talk to farmers and business men and form their own opinions of the damage the borer can do. The trip will require three days and the cost will not exceed from sl2 to sl4 per person. ”
