h.CJ.U. OPENS I STATEMEETING I Resolution Attacking Attorney General Gilliom Scheduled For Session Princeton, Ind , Oct. 14.—- (UF ) , desolations dealing with Attorney i General Arthur L. Gllliom’a attacks „ n medicinal whiskey restrictions ot thP Wright bone dry act. Dr. E. S. Shumaker’s contempt of court case and other prohibition matters are to come before the Indiana Women’s Christian Temperance Union which opened its fifty-fourth annual convention here today. Attempts of certain prominent members of the argauiztion to obtain a resolution that will go beyond merely expressing sympathy with Dr. Shumaker, superintendent ot the Indian,, Anti-Saloon league, were not expected to succeed. Mrs. Elizabeth Stanley, state president, called the convention to order. More than 900 delegates were to be [ registered before the end of the day. I Sessions were held at the first Christian church. ' One of the distinguished guests is Mrs. Ella Boole, national president of the organization, who will deliver the convention sermon ( Sunday morning. Mrs. Stanley will read her annual address at tonight’s session. Election of officers and selection of the next convention city will take place at the final business session to be held Monday after which the organization will adjourn. o Master Mason initiation Tuesday, October 18, at Masonic hall. For instance, there is the case of State Officer L. Johnson. Johnson was taking the hills in high gear in his Ford when a sleek Packard drew up behind him and starteil to pass. Another car was coming headon. Seeing that collision would occur, the officer was forced to turn his car over the bank.
