The formalities of dismissal will besimple. In the warden's office McCray will i bo given the $5 bill; n new suit of J clothes, prison made, and a ticket to ' Indianapolis. As the release is on parole. It will ( be necessary for McCray to report J once each month to the paroel officer of the Indiana district. During the last few months of confinement, McCray’s health has improved. He remained in the hospital, however, attending the mess there and being treated by prison doctors. On Sundays he strolled about the prison yard and watched ball games and quoit pitching contests. It was learned at the prison that the man .who once governed Indiana kept aloof from c.ther inmates. During the first two years McCray was an adviser on the honor farm where Earl Carroll, Broadway revue i producer now weeds corn and hoes . potatoes. I McCray taught a Sunday school (class for a while and also edited the prison monthly “Good Words.” His life within the walls, however, was said to be casting a deep gloom over his spirit. He had few visitors. His wife and children, as far as was known, never visited him.
