SHORTY GETS BIG JOB! Last Week’s Interview Landed Position With John Zimmerman His First Effort Appears In This Paper! In spite of the rowdy wav this new citizen who calls himself “Shorty" applied for a job last week it seems that he has l>een hired by the well known firm of John Zimmerman as Press Agent for their store on North Second street. How he did it is not understood in this office. f ~ I “Shorty" came into the office yesterday and told us of his new job and asked that we call attention to John's advertisement this week inasmuch as he had a few remarks included. He made the rfaim that Mr. Zimmerman was a natural born advertising man but had kept his light under the well known bushel and now that he (Shorty) was in charge Mr. Zimmerman was going to step out and GO SOME! Here’s what Shorty said: “The reason I selected Mr. Zim merman from among ’he twenty-two applications for my services was that Mr. Zimmerman never mentioned WORK! He did say a few nice kind words about SALARY but he seemed real decent about how much work I was to do. Sort of left it up to me to decide that paint. And certainly that's the sort of boss I want to make a salary off of—if you gather what I mean." Shorty gave us to understand that from now on indefinitely that he

Mr. Geq's, who was driving the car, was accompanied by his brother. Cletus. They were returning to their home after a visit here. After the ear stalled, leaving the rear wheels on the tracks, the two young men lumped out of their car before the train struck the car, hurling it to one : side of the tracks. The top, rear fenders and rear bumper of the car were damaged, but the boys were able to drive it to Bluff'.on under i its own power.
