Pythians Observe 52nd Anniversary Last Night The Arty-second anniversary of the founding of the Kekionga lodge, No. 65, Knights of Pythias, was onserved with appropriate ceremonies at the K. of P. home in this city at the regula rmeeting last night. A report showed that at present, there were in good standing in the lodge 55 past chancellors. James Hurst was the. oldest past chancellor present at last night's meeting. Twelve past chancellors also were present. The local lodge also boasts one past grand chancellor of Indiana, Dore B. Erwin. Mr. Erwin read a paper written and read in the local lodge 50 years ago. These documents show that Sweso turned over to the oil company valuable oil .leases in return for $220,000 in stock ' ami notes, and that he then assigned ' this stock to Fitzgerald. Sweso testi- ! tied that he had never owned any oil stock, and had never received . bonds or money. '| Evidence also showed that Fitzgerald had told Varnes and Eddy that the Security OM and Refining company had a permit to sell 1,000,000 shares of stock in Michigan, when as a matter of fact this permit had in effect been revoked by a private agreement a year before.
