Conn., June 24. — (I’P) —Yale's freshmen opened today’s Yale-Harvard regatta by a victory in the freshman two-mile race over Harvard. Mich., wi h an automobile belonging to Carl Carter, local barber, which they stole here Monday night, appeared before Mayor T. Harsh, late Thursday afternoon and both entered pleas of guilty to grand larceny and vehicle taking. Mayor Harsh then ordered the de-! fendants bound over to the circuit court under 22,500 bond each. The young men were returned to jail to await a hearing in circuit court. Prosecutor Elmore Sturgis stated that while he court was now m vacation, he expected that Judge Hamilton would arrange to hold a hearing early next week. The defendants were not questioned further at the hearing yesterday regarding the robbery staged at Polington. Ariz., June 21. — (UP) — Mat hew Kimes, who has played hide and seek wit.i Oklahoma officers mid posses for the last 12 months, had been completely subdued by another state's police force and was behind the bars of an Arizona jail today. Kimes and J. C. Whitehead, were captured yesterday after a gun bat le near Grand Canyon, Ariz., 85 miles from here. They were brought here by Depu.y Sheriff J. O. Parsons who was responsible for the bandit's capture and who identi them by descriptions sent out by Oklahoma authorities.
