BLAMES OHIO FOR FLOOD IN INDIANA \V 1). Cross, Jr., of Geneva, \sks Gov. Jackson to Take Steps To Recover Damages l’ un ° 23 - I’l A r( ft ill the recently renewed frienduhip between Ohio and Indiana threat fl ,c,| unlay betatt* water from the Wabash river In Ohio overflowed lute Indiana. W D. Cr<*». Jr., of Geneva, Ind., a farmer, wrote Governor Ed Jackson,

Bailing the chief executive to take steps to recover damages from the state of Ohio for the damage he said the floods did in Jay county. According to Cross, great loss was suffered about May 15 when 25,(Mm acres of Indiana farm land were flooded by opening of jhe flood gates of the giand reservoir near Celina, (). which controls the waters of the Wabash river. The gates were opened when the reservoir walls were endangered. A correspondent at Geneva report ed farmers lost livestock, suffered damage to homes and barns and were delayed in their work because of the high waters. Gov. Ed Jackson said he did not ’ think the state could obtain damages. | but believed steps should be taken to prevent a repetition of the disaster and referred Cross’ demands to Attorney General Arthur L. Gillium. The two states were at loggerheads up to a few months ago over the right of interstate busses to operate in Indiana or Ohio without licenses from both states. — Says Earth Will Cease To Rotate Eventually London.
