eral more boys over 12 years of age who van stay on the job from noon until about 7 o’clock in the evening. Many golf funs are taking advantage of the fine weather the last few days, and the “S. O. S." call for caddies was made necessary, when a shortage whs noticed yesterday afternoon. Mr. Craig stated that he desired boys over lL' years old. A school In caddying is being givt n by Walter Craig, dub professional, and the h.-ys are being taught the work of club carrying, ball finding and etiquette on me course. As soon as it is possilde the boys will he divided into classes, i.i accordance with their ability. It is pos-ible, Mr. Craig stated, for a boy to make several dollars a week in the healthful environment of the outdoors. The game had been a pitching duel between Rube Walberg and Mvles Thomas. The former allowed only five hits while Thomas held the Athletics to six. Mark Koenig hit a home run in the first inning. Slim Harris settled down after eatly inning wildness and kept the Washing on hits scattered, thereby enabling Boston to even the series by winning, 6-1. Rraxton and Mar berry were unable to hold the Boston batsmen. Jumlx Rlliott allowed btp four hits to the Boston Braves and Brooklyn won its fourth straight game. 6-2. It vas the seventh victory in eight games for the Dodgers. Herman hit a home run into the right field bleachers with two men on the first inning. Four Detroit pitchers were touched for 20 hits as Cleveland won, 14-1. Hudlin permitted Detroit only three hits. The 20 hits the Indians batted out included seven doubles and two triples. Worked Cigarette Game Here Sheriff Hollingsworth left at 1 o’clock for Marion. Dull has a record in this city. On several orca'spoils, he hss been wanted here and 1 in many neighboring cities for forg- ’ .tv. A few months ago he was in this city and ordered a case of cigarettes over the telephone from a Port Wayne wholesale tobacco house, saving that he was employed by the Everett-Hite company of th.s city. When the 'cigarettes arrived on the traction lino from Fort Wayne, Dull Went to the interurban station and signed the name of Everett-Hite Company to the freight liiljl and secured the cigartetes. He secured a local young man to haul the c’garettes for him and he sold them to a local cigar store. Dull left this city at orce and was not seen until taken into custody in Ohio shortly after the Payne hank robbery. On several occasions, officials of ne'ghborlng towns and cities reported to the local officials that Dull had been there cashing worthless checks or working his cigarette game.
