“Whiz” Sloan Wins All Races At Winchester Winchester, May 31—“ Whiz” Sloan diiving a Fronty-Ford, made a clean sweep of the three races held at Funk's speedway Monday. He won the lutnlle event in a minutes, 36 1-5 sec. the 15-mile race in 14 minutes and 24 1-5 seconds and the feature 25- mile event in 24 minutes 1-5 seconds. "Shorty" Cantion, of Detroit, was second in the 25-rnil race and Walter ?,lartin. of Chicago, third. Martin took second in the 15-mile race and Harry Niclads third. Martin was also the runner-up in the 10-niile event, with D. Ft. Moore, third. A crowd of 11.000 saw the races, which were run off without accidents. o Illinois Wins Big Ten Track .Meet Saturday Madison. Wis., May 31 In a drench-] lug tain. Illinois scored a surprisingj victory by winning the western con-1 ference outdoor track and field championship on the Camphrandall stadium field Saturday, nosing out the favored Wolverines of Michigan by the margin of less than two points. Illinois clinched the championship in trie very last event, the high jump piling up a total of 46 points to 44 1-3 for Michigan.
