THURSDAY I Root Township 4-H Club — Monmouth school, 2 to 4 p. m. The members of the Delta Theta Tan sorority entertained their mothers at a dinner party of pretty appointments in the Elks' home last evening. A delicious three-course dinner was served at seven o’clock. The tables were elaborately decorated with centerpieces of roses and each place was marked with a rose. Mary Virginia Hyland, Agnes Baker, Mary Meyer. Mary Fisher and Helen Voglewede served the dinner. Miss Mar- : garei Mylott, chairman of the enter- ‘ tainmeut committee, acted as toastmistress with responses "Toasts to Mother." by the Misses Germaine Christen. Margaret Holthouse and : Florence Holthouse. Tables were arranged for Bridge and prizes were won by Mrs. Ellen Hyland, Mrs. Henry Schulte and Mrs. Amelia Niblick. Spring flowers were used as a mite of decoration in the entertaining rooms. Mrs. Lee Hindman of Tort Wayne, was an out-of-town guest. The Civic Section of the Woman's i Club will meet Tuesday evening at seven o'clock at the Library. All members are urged to be there promptly. The Ladies’ Aid Society of the United Brethren church will serve a case teria supper in the church dining room Saturday evening from 5 to 7 o'clock The following menu will be served: ' i tn-n Tit— rm-ai i.r.-.:'. pota toes, noodles, gravy, baked beans, po tato salad, fruit salad, scalloped corn, pickles, bread and butter, pie, take, eskimo pies, ice cream and coffee. Mr. and Mrs. John Black of Convoy, Ohio, ente.tained at a surprise party in honor of their son, Clarence, the occasion being his eighteenth birthday anniversary. Last evening, the Guth sisters were v «iy pleasantly surprised by the girls Missionary Guild of the Zion Reformed church. The girls have been loyal members of this organization and efficient workers for 'the cause of missions ever since their arrival in this country from their home in Rheinplatz, Germany. As a token of love, the president of the society, Eleanor Reppert. Presented the girls with beautiful gold G- M. G. pins, a parting gift from the Guild. In the dim candle light, Mrs. A- R.
