j Arthur Kohl has one of those care-| free parts in which he literally I “romps" through a play at the Majestic theater. Fort Wayne, this week. As “Captain Applejack” in the com-; edy drama of the same name, Mr. i | Kohl has a part which fits his abili-! I ties naturally. He does not need to | i “act." His natural portrayal of the i ■ part is a portion of the charm of this i excellent comedy drama. The play is melodramatic in sec- ! tions, hut with a strong sense of hu- [ i mor throughout and with excellent I comedy scenes relieving the drama. | “Captain Applejack” was a sensation on Broadway and in large cities ! and duplicated its stage success in ■ I the motion pictures. The stage proI duction never came into Northern InI diana and the Wright Player’s preI sentation is a treat to the section. Mr. Kohl has the part of a young I rich man. bored with his existence, to. ■,■ I world. But adventure comes seeking him at his ancestral mansion and he is the center of a battle between I two criminal gangs for possession of | a fortune they believe the mansion j I holds. A strong element of romance runs I through the entire play, with a surprise in this respect toward the end. The Wright Players are well cast, I with Miss Frances Hall as the young I ward of the rich man. Miss Dorrit j Kelton as his aged aunt and with several members added to the com-1 pany to fill the many parts. The usual Wednesday and Saturday bargain matinees will be offered. It —advt. Incidentally, the story was not about “the big one that got away." John Tekulve, shoe repair man hero, went fishing in the city reservoir and pulled out a bass said by some fishermen to be the largest caught in Decatur county waters. Tekulve wouldn't risk ridicule at the hands of doubting Thomases, and brought his fish for exhibition to local friends.
