BANK SITUATION IS EXPLAINED Deputy Bank Commissioner Issues Statement Regarding Bluffton Rank — , Hluffton, April I—The situation re- ' latlve to the Studabuker Bank and the | Studabaker State Hank Is explaiued* I in a statement furnished Thursday lor I publication which reads as follows: I I “Statement to the public lu re Studabaker Bank. “Mr. Thomas D. Barr, Deputy Bank Commissioner, stated today that In uJer that there might be no misunderstanding in the public mind re-j gardiug the Studabaker Bank ami the Studabaker State Bunk, that the Department of Banking wished to make j in plain that the new bank, which was : tentativly organised last Friday night was formed a view to taking over the assets and assume ueposit liabilities of the old bank. Clrsumstances have since developed which rendered tills course Impractical, it should be definitely understood that the directors of the new bank did not in any way, shape, form, or manner, bind themselves that the deposits of the old hank would be paid. It is the opinion of the banking department that the action of these gentlemen was promoted by the laudable motive of averting any closing of tile institution and they ace in no way at fault for not having been able to consummate the progiam. , “If the new bank decides to function depositors of the old bank will lie well to clearly understand that hey v.ill not get their money from the old bank until such time as the assets of the old bank are liquidated. This will necessarily take quite a period of time. The department at present is iiicllued to believe that if all that the depositors will eventually sus tain no loss. "In view of the high standing ol mine of the directorate and stockholders of the Studabaker Bank, it is'reasonable to asiiiuie that they will make every effort to expedite' .n the interests of their friends will have money in the old bank. It’b- ;• time for wise counsel and prudent ac Don. Blufftcn is a good town, fil’eU ui:l good people-, surrounded by a ~\d>f lanrial farming district. There !- no
reason why the present regrettable difficulties should not be met \v:th 0 courage if those inconvenienced will 0 abstain from doing or saying anything e which will iuterfer with constructive e effort. The other two banka in Bluffton are safe and sound and able to meet any reasonable demands. False a d misleadingstatements, which would impair public confidence in worthy financial f institutions, should be discouraged by all wh - have their, own and the) i inanity's interest at heart. *‘Tl | i statements to the public as soon as j , it has information which it considers pi in teles' and value.” »T\ll mi:\i ei THE •M'IKU4Utr, vi \ \ t,.t:hi; vr. i ntci i. v rin\ i i i.. mm mi l) in the vi is OP I OMillKss b|-' Aid VI S 4, mu. Stj Obviously, 3or 4 supports for a crankshaft cannot give it the riatfity flv v. and smoothness of 7. That is why Nash—with customary engineer- ™ ing progressi veness —has developed the 7-bearing motor for all Nash models. The 7 hearings of Nash achieve power-smoothness and quietness, and achieve it, moreover, u ith no sacrifice of acceleration. In fact, the proper support of the crankshaft decidedly improves the energy and aggressiveness of the car. t Here is another fact to remember about the 7 bearings of Nash: They have more bearing surface, by actual measurement, than any ' 6-cylinder engine of similar size and price, no matter hotc many bearings it has. (Actually 20 square inches more than cars with fewer bearings.) When you buy your 1927 motor car be sure to ask: “How many main bearings?” And for better results choose the car that has 7. Nash offers you this performance-advantage in every single model* whether you pay $2090 for it or only $865. f - Nash Sales and Service Itunyon Garage G. A.
