Tomorrow's the day we have been waiting for, gang. The sectional tournaments will get under way tomorrow morning in several cities and tomorrow evening the local show will be opened. With two players for breaking training, one nursing a sprained ankle and Carl Gerber, regular center, out with an infected foot the coach has only about seven players left for tournament play. Gerber may be able to see service before the tourney is over, however. Coach Confer and his Catholic high Commodores can start work in earnest now, since they received their official bid to the national Catholic tourney today. This is the year for you to clean up, Commodores, so be prepared. The third time is charm, you know. A picture and accompanying write-up of Bertrand “Red” Haviland, former Geneva high school star athlete, appeared in the Indianapolis News, Wednesday. “Red”, who is a senior in the Indiana Central College, at Indianapolis this year, is also coach of the Indiana Central basketball team.
