Steiner-Sawyer The elopoment and Secret marri ige Os Miss June Sawyer, a member of the Junior class of the Bluffton high school, and George Steiner, which took place nt a Methodist parsonage in Covington, Kentucky, a week ago Tues day. was learned by thetr many friends this week. The maiTluge-was per'ormed by the R v. Higner Baumgardner and was witnessed by a sister ot the bride. The bride is a daughter of Mr and Mrs. A. J Sawyer, living a short distance east ot the Populr. ’ Grove ,-chool I- Hiding. She was a mei her of the Junior class.cf the Bluffton high school this year and was formerly a member of the Pennville high school. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Steiner, who own a grocery store in Vera Cruz. He is a graduate of the Bluffton high school and also a graduate of a short course at Purdue University. At the present time Mr. Steiner is employed with his father in the store in Vera Cruz. After a short honeymoon in Kentucky they returned to Vera Cruz where they will reside. Mr. Steiner will continue his employment in the Vera Cruz store. The members of the Psi lota Xi sorority entertained their husbands and sweethearts at a Valentine party in the Elks' last evening. The entertaining rooms were attractively decorated with trailing hearts. The tables w'ere centered with red tapers in crystal holders and clever Valentines. At seven o’clock, an elaborate dinner was served. Bingo was played following the dinner and prizes were awarded to Mrs. AV. L. Linn and Ralph O. Gentis. In a heart hunt Mrs. Edgar Gerber, of Fort Wayne, was awarded the prize. Mrk. Carolyn Acker-Huntington was awarded a lieautiful ring in a proposal contest. Mrs. A. R. Holthouse was chairman of the general committee tpn arrangements. Miss Billie Butler, Mrs. C. O. Porter and Miss Francile Lower had charge of the entertainment. Out-of-town guests included Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Valil. Miss Mary Callow, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Gerber and R. E. Heidrich, all of Fort Wayne, and Don Hunsick,er, of Bronson, Michigan. Mrs. C. A. Dugan delightfully entertained the members of the Tuesday Afternoon Bridge club yesterday afternoon at her home on Monroe street. Mrs. Cora Miesse-Van Swearingen, former resident ot this city, was a guest. Refreshments were served at the conclusion of the several games. The Tuesday Afternoqn Glub met yesterday with Mrs. Dick McConnell. Bunco was played and prizes were won by Mrs. Eu Boktiecht and Mrs. Francis Eady.
