The Junior Epworth League will give a Christmas program at 2 pm. The Senior Epworth League service will be held at 6 p.m. At 7 o’clock, the adult department of the Sunday school will present a wonderfully fine Christmas cantata with pageant setting. The members of the committee in charge of Mr. W. F. Beery, have the program well in hand and will be ably assisted in their effort to produce something exceptionally good. The pastor is calling the members of the official board for a brief Christmas session Sunday afternoon a! 2 o’clock. Presbyterian Church The services of tomorrow close the ministrations of the present, pastor, P.ev. B. N. Covert. He wishes to express his appreciation in this way of the generous space accorded the an- : ouncements of the church through the columns of the Daily Democrat. Miss Naomi Butler, of Cincinnati. Ohio, is spending her Christmas vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Butler, of north Fifth street. Robert Voglewede, student at Notre Dame university, who is home to spend Christmas wi’h his parents, will return Sunday to South Bend and on December 30 will play on the basketbill team. The game is between Notre Dame and Northwestern. The college and university students are home for the holidays and several social functions are planned in their honor. Decatur is represented in more than a dozen colleges by the young men and women of this city. Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Hunsicker and son. Don, of Bronson, Michigan, will be the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Huhhicker at Christmas dinner. Mi£s Billie Butler will spend the week-end in For’ Wayne with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Butler. Miss Carolyn Acker will leave tonight for Indianapolis to spend Christmas vacation with friends. Covert, Mrs. Covert and daughter. who will leave December 29 for South Bend, where Rev. Covert has accepted the pastorate of the Sunnyside Presbyterian ehurch. A large number of friends and

the Members of Ministerial association, members of the congregation and friends in having the Covert’s leave Decatur. Rev. and Mrs. Covert responded and thanked everyone for the fine cooperation extended them in their church work and for the many friendships made during their residence here. Dr. Somerville Light, pastor of the Methodist ehurch. made a few remarks, followed by the giving of the benediction. Light refreshments jyere served following the program. Rev. Covert became pastor of the local church in May, 1922, following his graduation from McCormick Seminary in Chicago, in January. He was installed’at that time and in June of the same year was married. They have on daughter, Catherine Lucille, and the many friends of the family, not only in the congregation, but tliroughout the city, will regret to see them leave, but wish them happiness in their new home and a Merry Christmas. Must Remain In Jail Oklahoma City, Ok|la., Dec. 24.— (United Press)—Mrs. Edltb If. Bishop, widow of Luther Bishop, slain state investigator, must remain in jail until her trial on charges of having murdered her husband, At her preliminary trial, concluded yesterday, Mrs. Bishop was ordered held without bail.
