Christmas Shoppers See Six Bandits Rob Chicago Jewelry Store Chicago, Deo. 14 —(United Press! — Throngs of Christmas shoppers watched six bandits descend upon a jewelry shop here, cast a brick through the window’, and escape with 110,000 worth of jewels. The two men engaged In a heated argument which ended when Platt drew a gun and fatally wounded kelley. Platt escaped but walked into olice headquarters and surrendered after Kelley had died. o Two Indianapolis Children Are Reported Kidnapped Chicago, Dec. 14. —(United Press.) —A search for two Indianapolis youngsters started here today with receipt of a letter from Helen Ackman charging that Hugh, Jr., and Mabel Ackman, 9 and 13 years old, children I of her brother, had been kidnapped' from the Indiana City and brought here. . In her letter the Indianapolis woman stated that the children were left in the care of an aged woman in Indianapolis by her brother, Hugh, after the latter had separated from his wife. Muriel. The children disappeared after starting to school on the morning of Nov. 29, the letter says. Belief that the two children were brought here was expressed in the letter. 0 Bluffton Girl Poisoned At Heidleburg College Tiffin, 0., Dec. 14.-—(United Press) Nine coeds of Heidleburg college, stricken with ptomaine poisoning after eating chicken salad, were able to return to their classes today. None of the girls was believed seriously ill, although Margaret Alspack of li.i.ff'eru-i.L.-d.,- •safejoed in a slatsroom yesterday. She was able to return to school today. First news of the illness of the coeds came from other students as college authorities sought to suppress publicity. The indebtedness on the church Sunday was 30,000 and SIO,OOO of this was secured on Sunday at the services. Rev Wilson < is the pastor and has had the united support of the church membership and building committee. Quite an unusual number of ministers of the conference were present at the services and the Rev. Mr. Smith of this city had part in the regular services. The Columbia City church has had a wonderful j growth in the past fourteen months.
