South Bend, will manage the new Riley hotel to be erected here, according to announcement of the promoters. Many Baby Fish Are Distributed By Stale Indianapolis, Ind., Dee. 4.—(United Press) —Approximately three million baby fish were distributed during the last fiscal year by the State conservation department, according to the annual report of George N. Mannfeld, director of the fish and game division. From its five hatcheries the state distributed 1,51(8,707 yellow perch, 892822 black bass. 222.941 bluegills, 83, 782 bluegills, 83,732 rock bass/ 60’250 crappies and 19.500 channel catfish. PLEAS OF NOT GUILTY ENTERED BY PAIR TODAY (COXTIMt'KU FROM PAtiW MB) Stine’s black eye, which he received when taken prisoner after the car in which they were forcing Sheriff Baker to take them to Fort Wayne, Thursday, was wrecked, appeared somewhat improved today. Goldstine continues surly, while Reilly told officers today that ho sees now where he made his mistake, and he talks more freely, although neither has talked much since they were arrested. Authorities are inclined to believe that Goldstine and Reilly had planned to stage a hold-up in Decatur Thursday. Had they refrained from attacking the local officers and submitted to questioning or arrest, no serious charges could have been brought against them. They had plenty of money on their persons to pay their fares into Fort Wayne. Newhouse In Court James Newhouse, caught with the three autos at Berne Thursday mottling and who pleaded guilty to carrying concealed weapons without a permit, was brought before Judge Sutton late this afternoon where Attorney W. E. Clapham entered appearance for him and requested a postponement of final judgment to permit the introduction of testimony as to his character. The judge granted the reques tand deferrd judgment until December 9. Newhouse was returned to jail. May Have Planned Robbery Fort Wayne, Dec. 4. —Belef that burglarizing or an attempted burglary of the Peoples store as Berne was frustrated Tuesday night with the arrest of Newhouse on suspicion, while his two companions, Rielly aud Goldstine. escaped, was expressed yesterday by local police after Detective-Sergeant John Godfery and Ray Dunlap, state motor police officer, had conducted an investigation at Herne.
