NET LEAGUE IS FORMEDIN D. H. S. Six Teams Comprise Eleague Formed Among Boys Not On Varsity Squad A basketball league consisting of six teams has been formed in Decatur high school by Coach H. L. Curtis The members of the teams are boy’ who are not members of the varsity squad and most of them are underclassmen. Three games have been play- • ed by each team. It Is planned to have each team l>lay one game every Wednesday night throughout the ba-sket-bail season. « The Whites, Purples and Reds are leading the ieagjje. each having won two games and lost one. while the Blues. Blacks and Greens have won one and lost two, e&.'h. Last Wednesday night, the Reds delated the Greens. 29-19. Anderson and DeVor, starred for the Reds with five field goals each. Ivan Reynolds, who scored five field goals and three free throws, played best for the losers. The Blacks defeated the Purples, 25-15. Shoaf, a freshman, snagged 8 feild goals for the Blacks, and was the star of the game. John lieVoss, with four field goals, played best for the Purples. The Whites won from the Blues, in 1 the most interesting game of the evening. by score of 16-10. The game last night was void of many thrills. Coach France Conter ’ used ten Commodores in the game i a team composed entirely of substitutes playing part of the game. Neither team could score for the ■ first five minutes, and finally GengJ ler, Delphos forward, scored a free throw. Smith then broke the ice for the Commodores with a field goal and Wemhoff and Pete Mylott follow’ ed suit. The first quarter ended 6-1 in favor of Decatur. The visitors were held scoreless in the second quarter, while the Commodores ran their count to 15. The locals missed shoj after shot at the basket. Delphos failed to score from the field until the middle of the second i half, when Gengler sank a field goal from the center of the floor. The
