The wave length is 268 meters; Long distance telephone wires will carry news of the game from the Indiana Memorial Stadium to Indianapolis where it will be relayed via the air. The Indianapolis News is in charge of the broadcasting, as at Homecoming last year. Can Coach Pat Page's Indiana University sophomore team stop the veteran “Moon” Baker and Tiny Lewis, Northwestern’s championship hopeful hall carriers here Saturday in the Hoosier home-coming contest? The Crimson may. yes, but they have a mighty task. Baker is captain of the Wildcats, has been a western conference luminary for three years and was the elusive ball carrier who gave Northwestern the only victory scored last year over Michigan. It was also Moon’s ability that gave Northwestern a six-point lead over Notre Dame’s famous “Four Horsemen” tn 1924, otily to be overcome when the Irish finally shoved across the winning touchdown in the last moments of play. Moon dropkicked two pretty ■
liners from afield. It also Moon who was responsible for the Carleton defeat and the last quarter triumph over’lndiana nearly two weeks ago. Coach Marshal! will give the Veiicw Jackets a good workout - this evening In ereparation for the game at Garrett Saturday, and then will ease up on the practice tomorrow evening. All bruises and sprains have had a chance to heal up during the past two weeks, since the game with Fort Wayne Central, and the Yellow Jackets are rearing to go. We have a communication from Jefferson high school, saying that the score of the basketball &me between Jefferson and Geneva eighth grade teams at Berne last Friday night was 42-1 in favor of Jefferson instead of Geneva, as stated in the story in the Daily Democrat last Saturday. Sorry wq made the mistake, but glad to correct it. » “We note where EARLYWINE is playing forward on the Michigantown basketball team. Something should be done about that.” Side- ' lines. Huntington Press. After working all winter he ought to be getting good around about March. Basketball material is plentiful in Logansport high school this fall, so plentiful, in fact that the school will sponger “A" and “B” varsity teams in addition to the regular second team. 'Each of the varsity teams will play twenty games and the two of them together will play twenty games on the home floor. The “A” team will take on the big boys while the "B” team will play such teams as West Point, Montmorenci, Delphi, Kewanna. Flora, Onward and Cutler. Newcastle tried the same stunt a few years ago, but the system didn’t prove to be a knockout. The experiment at Logansport will be watched with interest, however. “The saying, 'A bad beginning is a good ending’ is holding true down at Decatur. The Yellow Jacketa got off to a poor start, but made up for those early defeats by beating Portland and Fort Wayne Central. Keep It up> Decatur.” Grid SqifMjs, Portland Com-
