INCOME TAX LAW IS DESCRIBED Bulletin Prepared By Indiana University Discusses Operation Os Law Bloomington, lint., Oct. 19,—-(Unit-ed Press! The operation <>f the slate income tax in the fourteen states having income tax laws Is described in. a bulletin prepared by the Indiana university bureau of business rescar h. released today. According to the report a state which,, under present conditions, attempts to raise more than 5 or 10 percent of its total taxes by the income tax route i| in danger of driving bmii;-t-s from the state and discour rg is new business from locating there. Mich., Oct. ,19. — (United Press.) — Four trainmen were badly burned in the explosion of an oil ear here today following a collision betweerf a New York Central gravel train an da switch engine attached to the oil car. Tracks were torn up for a distance of several hundred feet by tbe crash. o Death Sentence Os 15-Year-Old Boy Is Reversed By Court Welch. West Virginia, Oct. 19. — The death sentence imposed on Adanr Burress. 15-year-old boy, convicted of i assaulting the 9-year-old daughter of' a coal miner, will not be carried out as scheduled on October 29. Judge Herndon, in circuit court, reversed tye criminal court sentence, ’ contending the lower court erred in ' ruling out evidence relating to the hoys’ age. A second trial probably will be held this week. O River Bridge Closed At Vincennes Today Indianapolis, Oct. 19. —With the collapse of one of the two wooden spans of the Wabash river bridge at Vin- , cennes regarded as emuiinent, John D. Williams, director of the state highway commission, today ordered the i structure closed to all traffic.
