Mrs.: Leigh Bowen will have charge of the: devotional*. The regular meeting of the St. Vin) lent de Paul society will be held in the Knights of Columbus Hall. Wednesday afternoon, at 2:30 o’clock. All members are requested to attend this very important meeting. The Young Peoples’ Missionary Circle of the Evangelical church will meet Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Francis Eady in Winchester street at 7:30 o’clock. A good attendance desired. The Root township Girls 4-H Clubl delightfully entertained the members of the Home Economies Club. | Friday night, at the Monmouth school building. A short program was giv-l en, after which the exhibit of their j work was judged. The Economics club gave the following prizes: Firs’ year class, Mary Jane Kunkle, first;) Josephine Hill, second; Louella Bro- 1 kaw, third. Second year: Della Boerger, first; Catherine Weidler, second: Helen Bohnke, third. The girls served refreshments during the social 1 hour. Miss Lois Fuhrman and Miss Esta Fleming have been the local club leaders. The Ladies Aid Society of the Evangelical church will meet at the church a ' 2 o clock Thursday afternoon. A Parcel Post sale will be held in con uectton with the meeting. All membets having fruits and vegetables to donate for the Deaconist Hospital in Chicago are requested to bring them to the meeting Thursday. The Homo Economic Club of Union Township will meet at the home ot Mrs. Edna Harden at I:3d o’clock Wednesday afternoon. Genevieve Nonken, of Elderado, Kansas, are visiting their aunts, Mrs. Ik F. Beery and Mrs. Charles W Andrews, and their uncle, J. D. Baker. They are driving back to Kansas with a new Oakland sedan and a new Packard hearse. Their father, J. E. Baker, is an undertaker and furniture dealer in Peabody. Miss Ruth is also a licensed embalmer. E. F. Gass, well-known merchant who has been seriously ill at the Adams County Memorial Hospital for the past week, was reported somewhat better today. o — Birth The girl baby born to Mr. and Mrs Max Moyer. 131 North Eighth street, a week ago Sunday, has been named Frances.
