Summers, of Ossian, and Francis A. Plumber, of \shvilie, N. C., were married last SatBrfay evening, at Ashville. Mr. Plummer is engaged in newspaper wor k in Ashville and hi, bride has been teaching in a Presbyterian mission school, there. Mr. Plummer formerly resided at Ossian, having gone to North Carolina a few years ago to tight a case of tuberculosis, which he contracted while in the army during the world war. He has completely recovered from the disease. The members of Rev. E. N. Foster's Sunday School Class of the Mon rO e Methodist church motored to Uke Webster Thursday where they enjoyed a picnic dinner. Boys desiring to become certified caddies must apply to Mr. Telford this week and secure from him, if approved, a certificate which qualifies him to serve. 2. Players are asked to use only tjiose boys who have a certificate. 3. Duly members and their guests will be permitted to play on the course expecting those who have received cards which may be obtained from any member of the board of governors. 4. Only those who have paid at least one-fourth of their membership tee by next Monday, August 1, will be considered meiuuera, unless other arrangements are made through Mr. Telford or Mr. Haney. Persons who are in arrears will receive a notice from the secretary this week, and they . are asked to mail their check to Mr J i Haney. Rushing Work On New Links With a favorable "break” in the ■ weather, the new course will be ready] : for use by September 15. Mr. Telford ■ predicts, They are working as rapidly ■ as possible, but. of course, have no control over the weather. Just now, . rain Is badly needed to make possible r the building of the greens. Mr Telford is busy now preparing plans for the addition to the club house, to include lockers, a store room, lounging quarti era. dance pavilion, dining hall, showers. etc. It is expected that these wil] i be definitely worked nut this week and , the contracts let soon, so that the building can be completed this year. The board will me<-t at least once a , week for the next few weeks, and expects to work out'a program which I will include the services of every member ot th n organization. It is to be the I center ot social activities in this sec- , tion, with something to interest every one. It jrou are not a member, you should join now.
