The regular schedule of hours w ill again lie observed, Herbert f’urtls, manager of the ixxii, stated today. Although the poo! is not completely fil ed, there is ufficient water to permit swimming. Samples of the water fiom the pool were sent to the state chemists department at Indianapolis and the return report said thu! the water was in good condition and free from contagion. The water In the poo! changes continuously and every few weeks the *aui is drained and the bottom and sides cleaned thoroughly. Some broken glass hud been thrown into the pool and Phis was taken out this week. . Hundreds of pprsons take advantage of the swimming pool every week. The hlldren use the pool mostly in the day time and older people take advantuge of the early evening hours and cool oft in the pool. It is estimated that there lias been an average attendance of 150 daily at the pool since the opening. There are several seats for spectators along the banks. The expenses of the company increased from $24,200,849.78 to $29.300.036 74, tlie report shows. PROHIBITION SLATE NAMED Partv Demands Prohibition Os Tobacco As Well As Liquor . Indianapolis. Ind., July 16. —(United Press.)—Prohibition of tobacco as well as liquor was demanded today in the slate platform of the prohibition party. The platform described the use of alcoholic beverages as tlie "greatest curse of mankind." Rev. William Harris. Indianapolis, was nominated as the party's long term senatorial candidate and Dr. Albert Stanley, also of Indianapolis was nominated for the short term senatorial seat. The other nominees: Secretary of state- Robert Dyer, Lapel. Treasurer of state—Mrs. Margaret Nold. South Bend. Auditor of state—John Wirt. Frankfort. Superintendent of public instruction —Floyd Beghtel, Indianapolis. Clerk of the supreme court —Etta Miller. Indianapolis. Failure to nominate candidates for the supreme and appellate benches was explained hy the statement that "there are few lawyers in the prohibition party."

The stand of the company was made plain yesterday when members of the citizens committee of fifty attempting to end the strike conferred with company officials. It was understood the company took the attitude that the moment it opened negotiations with the strikers the men who have taken their places would walk out, making the situation worse than at any time since the strike started. MOSER WINS IN RADIO CONTEST Soprano Singer Selected To Represent Decatur In Contest At Chicago Mrs. Cecil Moser was selected hy the audlenoe at the Adams theat'.e last night to represent the city ot Decatur at radio station WLS, Chicago, on July 24. Mrs. Moser received the greatest number of votes and won over the five acts on the program. She will compete at the Hotel Sherman on Saturday evening. July 24. from 9 to 10 o'clock, Decatur time, which representatives from five oilier Indiana towns. The contestants are asked to report at WLS studio at 1 o’clock Saturday afternoon and they will he entertained at a matinee or taken sightseeing about Chicago.
