Brown, of the Aniinal Husbandry Department at Purdue university, spent Tuesday in Adams county in the interest of the Hoosier Ton Litter club and Hoosier Gold Medal Colt club. Mr. Brown is in charge of both projects, in which many farmers throughout the state are enlisted. During the forenoon, a visit was paid to Joseph P. Habegger, of Monroe township, where some prospective ton litters were inspected. Mr. Habegger is feeding three litters, consisting, respectively, of eleven, ten and eleven pigs. The pigs are approximately one hundred days old and will weigh about one hundred pounds each. A colt entered in the Hoosipr Gold medal licit club was seen on the Harrison Miller farm. It appeared that Mr. Miller will likely be among the Gold Medal winiier.’ when the colt is wv’ghed next fall. In the afternoon. Mr. Brown attended- the Founer Stock Sale. June 9—(United Prese)- Lee Rurnoy, anti Charles j Mays, reputed notorious outlaw were Slain in the streets here by officers in a gun battle early today. Gene McClary was wounded by a stray bullet. M. L. Wosley, Deputy sheriff and W. Schmalbach, night watchman, engaged the two outlaws in battle when the latter were seen prowling about the streets at 3 a. m.
