GIVING DECATUR A Lower Power Rate • \ EFFECTIVE today the City Light and Power Plant reduces its power rates, which will mean a saving of from SIO,OOO to $15,000 per year to local industries and users of electric power. The Rate has been Reduced from 3c per K. W. to 21c per K. W. The citizens of Decatur want their industries to grow and offer them such advantages as will enable them to enlarge their plants, increase their payrolls and in general make this city a better place in which to locate. A low power rate also makes it more inviting for other industries to locate here. The installation of modern machinery and equipment in the City Light and Power Plant in recent years has made it posBT -IW* 11 "V •. ••.*** ‘ ’ —— . . ■ ''' ■ 1 sible to increase production and as a natural consequence lower costs. These advantages are now being passed on to the public. The reduction of the Power Rate is the first step taken by the City v in the program of giving Decatur a lower power and light rate. Anticipating a reduction in the Light Rates by the end of the year, plans are already under way to put this reduction into effect. Following the installation of the new turbine and other equipment which will ma- i terially increase the production of the plant and lower costs, tesTs will be made and it is practically assured that a general reduction in the Light rate schedules will be possible by the end of the year. We are working towards that end. _ City of Decatur = Light & Power Department "FOR A BIGGER AND BETTER DECATUR ALWAYS”
