Mrs. Vail was out of the city, attending the annual conference of ithc Methodist church at Newcastle. The Civic Section of the Woman's Club will hold a regular meeting in the library. Tuesday evening, at seven o'clock. All members are urged to attend. Business of importance will be transacted. Tile meeting of the Auction Bridge Club, which was to have been held with Mrs. Haul Breide Wednesday night, lias been postponed indefinitely. Al! members are urged to note the change. The G. E. Harmony Boys' orchestra will give another dance at the Ma- 1 sonic Hall Friday night, at 8:45' ) clock. Admission will be 65 cents lor men and ladies free. HONOR PASTOR WITH PROGRAM Catholic School Children Surprise Father Seimetz Sunday Afternoon Surprising the Rev. Julius A. Seitnetz, rector of St. Mary's Catholic church, the Sisters and school children planned and gave a program in the auditorium of the Catholic school building Sunday afternoon, in observance of Rev. Seimetz’s patronal feast day. Unknown to the beloved pastor, the word went around that a program would be given In the auditorium and a large audience assembled. The program was given by the school children. Fallowing the afternoon church services, Father Seimetz was invited to come over to the school auditorium and there met with the surprise and was informed that he was the honored guest. Today Is the feast of St. Julius, but the program was given yesterday in order to give the members of the congregation an opportunity to attend and to extend their best wishes to their pastor. The Rev. Paul S. Mayer, mis--1 sionsry from Japan, on furlough, will give the pddress. For many years, I he has been a missionary in Japan and, at present, is a leading executive | in the missionary work of the Evangelical church in Japan, where the church has been at work for the past fifty years. Rev. Mayer is an orator of ability and a real student. His addresses are packed with valuable information along the line of missionary policies and activity, as well as conditions prevailing in Japan. All who heard Rev. Mayer on his previous trip here, in January, will be anxious to lieu rhini again. The public Is cordially invited. A silver offering will be received. Monroe Minister Preaches At Decatur U. B. Church The Rev. Enos Haggert, of the Friends church, of Monroe, filled the pulpit at the United Brethren church in this city Sunday morning'and evening in the absence of the pastor, the Rev. Cecil R. Smith, who is conducting a revival service at Union Chapel. The services at the United Brethren church were well attended and the messages were well received by the congregation.

Revival At Union Chapel To Continue The Revival Services being held at Union Chapel U. B. church, east of Decatur, will continue each night this week. The attendance and interest nt the services Sunday were exceptionally good. The services begin at 7:30 o'clock each evening. The Rev. Cecil R. Smith, of this city, is doing the preaching. The pastor, the Rev. B. B. Blauvelt, who has been very ill, is expected to be in the services this week. No cases were set for trial today, but the court was busy setting cases for trial and making entries of various kinds. Suit On Note A suit on a note Vas filed in the circuit court today by the Wemhoff Monumental Works against Reuben Clark et al. Judgment for SBO and costs is demanded. Attorney A. C. Butcher is counsel for the plaintiff. Claims Ordered Amended In the cases of the Missouri Pacific Railway company vs. the John W. Vail estate, Daniel Sprang vs. the John W. Vail estate and Aaron T. Vail vs. the John W. Vail estate, the claims were ordered amended on motion of the administratrix. Must File Cost Bond In the cases of John T. McKay vs. the John W. Vail estate, and McKay and James vs. the John W. Vail estate, a motion by the defendant to require the plaintiffs to file a cost bond was sustained. Set For Trial The case of Anna C.
