FALLS NINETEEN STORIES; KILLED ' Man Hangs From Hotel Window Five Minutes Before Falling ’ Chicago. April 9.— (United Press.) —While flames swept across the window ledges, searing his fingers. I.»oui8 J. Ainsworth, wealthy head of a Cincinnati. Ohio, radio manufacturing company, early today hung for five minutes from a 19th story window y of the Morrison Hotel, and then dropped to the ground—dying instantly. Ainsworth s drop was the culmination of five minutes of feverish attempted rescue work during which two men risked their lives and (loxens of others attempted to rescue hint. Pedestrains along the sidewalk were attracted by the Screams of Ainat worth as he hung from the window. ; They say flames leaping through the ■ aperture. At the same time men started from ' downstairs with axes % batter in the door. J. W. Melville, a shoe salesmaa, who had the room below, and Frank Gilleum. a New York art deal er. started a desperate attempt tc ' get to the stranded man They open- , ed their window and Melville climb ied onto the ledge. Gilleum went I under him and a human chain was [ formed that barely reached the hot tom of the man's feet. Ainsworth weighed more than 200 pounds so it was impossible to grasp him by the ankles and lower him to i their window. However, the two men at the risk of their lives, supported Ainswoith and enabled him to holt much longer than would have been possible otherwise. The door was I chopped down just as Ainsworth let go of the ledge. x _o Ti action Lineman Is * Electrocuted At Warsaw Warsaw,- Ind., April 9. — (United Press) — John Robinson, 23, an employe of the Winona Service Company. was fatally burned Thursday when he came in contact with a 33,000 volt line, here. GREENWICH VILLAGE FOLLIES AT THE MAJESTIC, APRIL 15 The "Greenwich Village Follies.’’ u special edition of America’s greatest revue which pleased the metropolis during the past season will be presented at the Majestic Theatre. Fort Wayne, on Thursday night. April 15. with all its resplendent grandeur. Hack 4tear the "Greenwich Village Follies” has fcrowu more elaborate and expensive, and this special edition tops them all from the standpoint of spectacularness. Ingenueness and beauty. | John Murray Anderson must have drawn upon the rainbow for his most dazzling and truly glorious combination of colors. There are many startling and surprising contrasts in the "Follies." There is for instance "The Nightingale and the Rose" from Oscar Wilde's fairy state, and there is the Beethoven Sonata, lavishly and superbly staged Comedy which is a rare treat in a revue is much in evidence in this Special edition of the "Follies." To emphasise correctly one might say there is comedy aplenty. At the head of the brilliant cast is Rayjnond tlltchcock.' the best and most favorably khown musical com edj- and revue comedian on the present day American stage, also Tom Hsnders and Arthur Minis, a comedy team whose comic oddities create many a hilarious moment during the action of the revue. Others in the huge organization are: Claire Devine. Evelyn Hoey. Claude Rhys, Edward Leslie, Lucille Peterson. F. Bud Williamson, Audrey Ridgwell. Josephine Fontaine. Bddte Marr. Myrtle Pierce. Eddie Parker. James Cushman and thirty provocative artists' models of much charm and grace. John Murray Anderson devised and staged the "Greenwich Village Follies.” as he has done in former years. The comedy scenes are by Irving Caesar. Billy K. Wells, the lyrics by John Murray Anderstn and Irving Caesar and the alluring score by Louts Hirsch. The presentation is by The Bohemians. Inc., A. L. Jones and Morris Green, managing directors.
