CARE OF PICS DEMONSTRATED Purdue Man Gives Demonstrations at Meetings Hehl In County Tuesday ‘‘Pig Management” meetings were 'hold Tuesday on the Otto Hollo farm in Union township ami the Dennis i Striker fnrrn in Monroe township As the forenoon meeting, held at the Hoile farm, Mr. P. T. Brown, of Purdue, .showed how to nip the "wolf-teeth” of small pigs. He emphasized the fact th it this is often necessary to prevent them from injuring each other, thereby making sources of infection which often leads to "bull nose” and other small pig ailments. An ea. y system of earmarking was shown, which proved of special interest to ton litter members. Mr. Brown showed that dipping the head of infected pigs in a solution of potassium permanganate will assist in relieving cases which have not become tco severe. A farrowing pen was scrubbed with a hot lye water and disinfected with a g> od disinfecting solution, thereby showing how preparation should be made to insure small pigs from becoming infected with worms. Directions also were given for feeding the sow and litter. A similar program took place at the Striker farm, where about forty farmers had gathered. o Mi : COURTHOUSE : ■■■■■■■ ■ ■ a ■ ■ ■ Administrator Appointed John W. Cheap cars, expensive cars—three million of them—sent to the scrap heap for want of the right oil. You may have considered lubrication unimportant. Oil is the life blood of the engine—as the impressive statement quoted above strikingly proves. You will not realize “full value” from your car investment, if faulty lubrication sends it to the scrap heap ahead of time. Many repair bills and many bills for over-haul-ing are the direct result of failure to appreciate the importance of proper lubrication. No motorist is deliberately careless about so important a question as lubrication, but many are thoughtlessly careless. It is a simple matter to keep your car perfectlv oiled at all times. Use Polarine! You can benefit from the years of scientific work of the Standard Oil Company (Indiana) staff of lubricating engineers. Consult chart At Any Standard Oil Service Station or Authorized Garage. It will tell you the exact' grade of Polarine to give perfect lubrication in your individual car. Drain your crankcase. Cleanse your motor thoroughly with Polarine Flushing Oil, and refill with the correct grade of Polarine as specified. Do this regularly and at frequent intervals and your car will last longer.
