FIELD GOALC 1 By MARK M. UPP kz Tonight I an important one for Decatur high school teams. The Com modores meet their old rivals, C. C. 11. 8., at Fort Wayne, in a game that I will go fur toward deciding the Catholic high school champion'hip of Indiana b The v’eiluw Jackets med Garrett, at the 10. al gym In an Important game, “ It is important In that a victory for the Yellow Jackets will give them a boost In the rating of high school teams In this part of the state as the visitors have an enviable record this season. Here’s wishing the belt of luck to both quintets. We hope, and believe, that we will be able to record victories for both local teams tomorrow. Th.' roads in th. southern part of the cou.nty all lead to Berne tonight, since the Hartford toamship Gorillas and the Berne Fighting Five .lash at the auditorium there this evening.. Kirkland and Decatur each tried to br.-ak Berne’s winning streak on the last two week ends, and the Gorillas are going to take a crack at it tonight. s ~.. ... —— i ”We understand that Decatur will be on the Huntington basketball schedule next fall. Since the Yellow Jackets have been swatted by nearly every team this year, including Berne and Lancaster Township. we are already counting on two sure victories for next season.” —Crowds on the Sidelines, Huntington Press. < Yes, Cash, wo were informed yesterday that the Yellow Jackets will meet i the Vikings in two games next .season. We’re mighty glad to see th® Vikings placed on the Decatur schedule, no matter who wins. But this ( 1 year is not next year and even if it were, we wouldn't concede a thing to ' you, Cash. And we don’t mean maybe when we say future stars. There are some high class grade teams in Adams county this year, and this tournament is going to be well worth the time and cash it costs. The Commodores will meet Kirkland township here tomorrow night. The Kirkland township fans are coming in in large numbers to see the Kangaroos jump around while the t’ommodores try to steer them to defeat. Word comes from Van Wert that the Scarlet and Gray team of the Van WV-rt high school is going to be plenty tough for the Yellow Jackets Saturday night. After losing several game.-- at the start of the season, the Scarlet and Gray eagers braced and defeated the South Side high school team cf Lima, after South Side had won seven straight games. Van Wert walloped York high last week, 46-23. Tonight, Van Wert plays at Convoy. Marlon plays Muncie on the latter’s floor tonight. If Marion hadn't lost that “blooming” game at Bloomington last week they would be strong favorites tonight. At it is, the odds are pretty even. May Decatur win tonight In both games, but win or lose, may Decatur be respected tomorrow. Today's question and answer: Q If a foul is called on one team and b< fore the free throw is attempted a foul is called on the other team, what is the decision? A —The ball is thrown up at center after the last free throw.

the score was knotted, at 9 all. Paul Stanley had scored four field goals during the half and Drew had scored one free throw during the half. In the second half. Geneva kept up the fast pace, scoring four more field goals and holding the Rockford team to one field goal and two free throws. Paul Stahley scored six field goals for Geneva, while his brother. Albert Stahley, scored the other two field goals credited to Geneva. The Geneva team has won two out of three games played this season. Geneva plays Monroe at the old gym here tonight.
