quietly solemnized Saturday afternoon at 4:30 o’clock at the home of the Rev. H<A. Thompson, Rev. Thompson read the single ring ceremony in the presence of the bride's twin sister, Mrs,' Sol Lord, and the groom's mother, Mrs* Darrel August, The young couple will reside in this city. Mrs. August is u graduate of the local high school and for the past several years and until recently, was employed at the Mutschlej/ Packing Company Meat ’ Market, m bookkeeper. Mr August is employed at the local plant of the General Electric Company. Mrs. J. 11. Blair entertained her Bridge Club at 'a dinner bridge at her home on Mercer avenue Saturday evening. First prize wag awarded to Miss Mildred Llddy and the consolation prize to Miss Ruth Fri- : inger. Guests besides the club members were Mrs. M. A. Kennedy and Miss Mary Suttles. The next meeting of the club will be held at the home of Miss Angie Firks, next week The Moose Legionnaires will not hold their regular meeting this week. The meeting has been postponed until Thursday, January 28, at which time all members are urged to be present. » T Miss Charlotte Niblick will entertain the members of the Bridge club Wednesday evening at 7:30 o'clock. Friends here have received the announcement of the birth of a son to Mr. and Mrs. Sherman LaCroix. of Watseka, Illinois. The child has been named Louis Gleiser and weighed 6% pounds. Mrs. LaCroix is a sister of tlie Bev.. William Gleiser, formerly pastor of the local Presbyterian church. She was well known here having visited here on several occasions.

Vinton Ray, a brother of tile injured boy, states that Hanni and Lehman confessed to him and two other linen after the accident, that they picked the boy up and carried him down the road about 200 yards and then laid-him down in the road. After that, according to the alleged confession, Lehman and Haifni returned to their car and drove back' toward Geneva, two wheels of ‘heir i car running over the Ray boy’s legs as he lay in the road. Later, Willis Jack, a farmer, found the injured i boy in the road and pitted him up. Just then, Hanni and Lehman returned from Geneva and took the injured boy to a physician’s pffice in Geneva. Hanni and Lehman have not confessed to Marshal Hcflingswortlj The Ray boy was considerably improved today and was able to set up part of tlie day.x The attending physician believes he will recover soon. '1 he boy says that the last ho remembers about the incident was that lid fell from th e car as it hit the bridge, lhe fall rendered him unconscious and he did not regain consciousness until the following day. He had a deep gash on his forehead and there were many bruises over his body, head and legs, but no bones were broken. Eighteen Taken To State Prison From Indianapolis Indianapolis, Jan. 18. — There were many empty cells in the Marton ‘ county jail today. Eighteen prisoners I were taken to the state prison at Michigan City to serve the sentences imposed on them by Judge Collins in criminal court. • Four others were taken to the state reformatory nt Pendleton and two went, for a stay at the’penal farm at Putnamville.
