that Elephant Rock has been taken from the plare where js wan deposited by glacial actions and has been set up in the Court House lawn at Deoatur, Indiana. 1 learn with Interest and pleasure that the rock will be dedicated with appropriate ceremony to the memory of Gene Stratton Porter, whose love for Indiana has been bequeathed by her to all man kind. 1 learn also that a new boulevard to he known ns Limber Lost Trail, has been established, and that, the remains of Mrs. Porter are to repose forever at Rainbow Cemetery. Indiana has given generously to contemporary literature and it is a heartening fact that Gene Stratton Porter is to be remembered so beautifully. 1 have talked the matter over with some of the prominent members of the Prairie Club of Illinois, and write to assure you that if we are given an invitation we will come down in force at the time of the dedication ceremonies. 1 have’been unable to talk with any one else during this holiday season, except General Leßoy Stewart and Samuel Harper ‘‘an author," members of tlie Prairie Club.
