Hew much more sensible to call the Chiropractor first. How much suffering, anxiety, loss of time and expense might be saved if the Chiropractor is called in to attend the acute ailments, such as fevers, cold, inflammations, ets. You know that Chiropractic can restore health after the disease has continued many years and has been pronounced incurable. Then isn’t it reasonable to suppose that much quicker and better results could have been obtained had we been consulted in the beginning? WHY IT WILL PAY YOU TO TRADE IN DECATUR Co-operate. That’s not a new word or expression. You’ve heard it before and you probably will say ”1 do co-operate. ’’ Hut do you ieally or is it that you are WILLING to co-oper-ate but don’t know bow. It is true that we will all give a portion of our time if requested and oven help finance hy digging down in to our pockets for a given sum for some enterprise. We do that Cheerfully. Then we forget about it. And we THINK we have done -our part and co-operated to the utmost. But think a minute. Does that always constitute full co-operation or is it just the easiest way out witnout being called a slacker. When a community decides to accomplish anything there is just one way to co-operate fully and that is to put your whole soul into it just as you would a private enterprise. Your donations' help, most assuredly, but sometimes it takes more than just a cash donation. Then we see the real community builder. He steps into the breach and does all that he possibly can until he accomplishes that which he sets out to do. A very gopd example of co-opera-tion was shown in an lowa town recently. The town decided they should have a swimming pool for the young folks. A place where they could swim and d.ve and keep cool during the hot weather, bid they ask for cash donations and then let a contract for the pool? They did not. They abked Co-operation and they g , cooperation. Every man in the city turned out. from the laborer to the doctor, from the poor man to the millionaire, and in a few days the pool was completed—built by men of the town with materials provided by the various merchants of the town. A project that would ordinarily have cost the city thousands of dollars was thus secured witli little or no expense, and in less lime, all because they CO-OPERATED. But there are other ways to cooperate. Every t'me you spend a dollar in Decatur you are co-operating to make Decatur a Bigger and Better city in whjch to live. And every dollar that you spend with local concerns comes right back intp LOCAL circulation to enrich-you and your family. If the city as a community prospers, it naturally follows that you too, must prosper. If the Community does not prosper neither can you hope Io prosper at the expense of the community. A community which is enterprising, whose citizens are willing to work together and which can apply modern methods, is the community which will forge ahead. There is this difference however between individual and community effort in its narrow sense; an individual may succeed by applying a narrow and selfish view, a community cannot. But though the individual may succeed and still be narrow and selfish his success does not depend upon the selfishness of his own life but rather upon the liberality and unselfishness of other people. So in reality therefore. the selfish man does not succeed because he is selfish but because he lives in the. midst of people who are inclined to be more generous than lie himself is. And so it pays us all to co-operate. To be generous in other things aside from money and to pull together all for a better community. We want Decatur to be attractive to other people. We want it to be attractive to our children—the futura generation. We want them to take the same pride in it and love it as "Home.” So lets see if we can't find the way to co-operate wdth that end in view. Lets begin by buying from our local concerns- Then let’s watch the result. Next week we will tel' you something of the children’s part in the community, something which you perhaps have overlooked.
