Roe’s auto was wrecked in a collision with another machine at a cross roads near Lebanon. “It was awful earless of me,” he told Sheriff Saunders, who appeared on the scene. “You're r’ght," the sheriff said, spy-1 ing a still in the back seat of the wrecked auto. loggers for one of the most extensive’ raids in the history of the city. The onslaught started about six o’clock yesterday afternoon and lasted until midnight. Fifty-eight places were raided, 138 persons arrested, and thousands of bottles of wine, beer and whiskey were seized. The net haul of the raids was: 240 gallons of whiskey. 30 gallons of alcohol. 607 gallons of wine, 15,400 pints of beer, 133 barrels of whiskey mash, 240 barrels of beer mash. —— ——o 1 -— Louis F. Arrested in Indianapolis when she attempted to pass a one dollar bill which she had raised to a ten dollar bill denomination, the woman told such a pitiful story that the hearts of the federal authorities were touched. United States Commissioner Kern set her bond at $2 which was promptly furnished by two offiicials and other employes in the federal building contributed to a Christmas fund for her children.
