The annual Christmas party of the Rebekah lodge will be held Tuesday' evening at the hall. A pot-luck sup-' per will be served and the attendance of all members is urged. The regular meeting of the Tri Kap-j pa sorority was held last evening at the liotne of Miss Rittii Frisinger. t plans were made tor the annual Christinas treat to the County* Infirmary, which will be distributed on Christmas daj. Plans were also made for the Christmas party, to be held at the home of Miss Mary Suttles, Tuesday. | December 29. The Christmas exchange will be held at that meeting. One hundred ami fifty invitations have been issued to friends for a Bridge party and dance to be given at the Masonic Hail. New Year's Eve. This will be one of the biggest social events of the holiday season. At the conclusion of the business. Miss Frisinger served dainty refreshments. IM*’ — The S. E. Hite home on Third street was artistically and beautifully decorated for the annual Christmas party of the Historical club last night. Twen-1 ty-two members were in attendance. A small lighted Christmas tree and red tapers in crystal holders furnished the table decorations. An elaborate banquet was served at six-thirty o'clock, after which the annual exchange of gifts was enjoyed. Contests and a clever program was given by the committee in charge. The committee included the officers, Mrs. Agnes DeVor, Mrs. Mary Ahr and Mrs. Kannie Fristoe. Others who helped on the committee were Mrs. Fred Hattvher, Mrs. Pauline Butler anti Mrs. Mario Ahr. The meetings of the chib will be Hi. continued during the Christmas holidays ahd will be resumed January 6, with the first meeting at. the home of Mrs. Agnea-Campbell. Adorning one corner of the room was a minature thatched roof cottage, covered with icicles and snow, and Santa, himself, peering from one of the windows. I Miss Cecile Miller and Marie Murtaugh, who are spending the winter in Florida, were remembered in the exchange. The Catholic Ladies of Columbia entertained last night at the Knights |of Columbus Hall, at a pot-luck supper and Christmas exchange. Five Hundred and Rhuin were played and prizes were won by Mrs. Andy Foos, Mrs. William Murtaugh, Miss Rose Steigmeyer and Miss Agnes Nesswald. The exchange gifts were distributed io the guests by Santa Claus. The ' hall was decorated in the season's I colors and a large lighted Christmas tree for the occasion. The I’hilatha# Class of the Baptist church will meet in the church parlor Friday evening at 7:30 o'clock. A Christmas program has been arranged a nd the annual gift exchange will take place. Henry Faurbte, of this city. Possession of the building will be given to Mr. Faurote on March 20, it was stated today. Mr. Faurote plans to remodel the building and will conduct a grocery store, lunch room and confectionery store. C„ Dec. 16- The tax bill debate, after smoothly sailing through tho normal and surtax provisions and repeal of the publicity clause, reached the controversial subject of the inheritance tax and the board of tax appeals today.
