He also caged three field goals. •'Mongo” Meyers was high point man of the game with six field goals and three free throws to his credit. The whole team played good ball and showed lots of fight. Coach Welbourn. of Fort Wayne South Side, refereed the game and his work was above the ordinary. In the first preliminary game of the evening, the St. Joseph Catholic school eighth grade boys defeated the second team from St. Peter and Paul, of Huntington, 22-17. Mylott, Gass’ Wemhoff, Gage, Harris and Klepper played for ppeatur. The Catholic High girls went down to defeat at the hands of the V. T. D. girls team of Fort Wayne, in the second game of the evening, after one of the hardest fought girl's games ever seen here. The Decatur girls took an early lead and were ahead. 10-8 at the end of the half. The lead changed hands several times in the last half, and the visitors were loading, 20-19 when the final gun cracked. The Decatur line-up was Smith, Clark, Murtaugh, Baker, Christe nand Holthouse. The Catholic high boys will play the Fort Wayne Blue Prints here next
