Court Os Appeals Affirms Sentence Os William Fahy Chicago, Dec. 10.—The circuit court of appeals today affirmed the sent euces of 25 years in prison Imposed on Wm Fahy, former postal inspector, and James Murray, Chicago West side politician, convicted of participation in the 13,000,0H0 Rondout, 111., mail robbery. Florida Statistics Show Big Gain In Population By Julian Snyder (U. P. Staff Correspondent) Tampa, Fla.. Dec. 10 —(United Press) —Florida is increasing in wealth and population at an unprecedented rate, according to official statistics made available here. These figures show that: More than 2,000 persons daily are pouring into the state in automobiles, besides the number arriving by railroads and steamship Resources of Florida banks are increasing at the rate of more than sl.000,000 a day, according to Bank Comptroller Ernest Amos. More than $1,000,000 daily is being spent for land developments and the construction of new homes and buildings. A toll bridge near Jacksonville along one main highway into the state listed 57,127 persons in 14,624 automobiles entering Florida during the month of October. The bank resources of Florida on October 31. 1925, totaled $478,000,000, compared with $179,000,000 in 1924; $127,381,000 in 1922 and $58,747,000 in 1916. Cash in Florida banks on Oct. 31. totalled $11,917,000 compared with $5.008,000 in 1924. Total bank deposits in 1925 were $318,172,000, compared with $90,000,000 in 1924. Nineteen new banks were chartered. Building permits in thirty cities during October aggregated more than $38,000,000. Miami led the state with $lO,182,000; and Palm Beach, with $6,793,000; West Palm Beach, $3,284,000; St. Petersburg. $2,902,000; Tampa, $2,154, 000; Jacksonville, $2,004,000; Orlando, $1,241,000; Miami Beach. $1,191,000, and Sarasota. $1,110,000 followed in order. Miami today la estimated to have a population exceeding 100,000, whereas in 1920 the population was 29,000. Ralston Indianapolis, Dec. 10. — Memorial services for the late Senator Samuel M. Ralston will be a feature of the opening session of the annual conference of the Indiana Historical Society here Friday. Meredith Nicholson, local author will b e in charge of the services which will be held in the Chateau case of the Claypool hotel, where all sessions of the conference will meet. Woodburn, professor in history at Indiana University will be in charge of these services and will deliver an address relating to the admission of Indiana. State Senator C.
