Dec. 7. —(United Press l —John Seidel, o. this city is very proud of Jenny, his single comb white leghorn hen. The hen recently was awarded a prize as the champion layer of seventeen states in a contest conducted by the Michigan agricultural college. More than 1.000 other hens were entered. Seidel’s hen. which won with a margin of fifteen eggs to spare, established a record of 308 eggs in one year. The best previous record was 285 eggs in one year. Stecnbarger, is back here today after selling 850 pounds of the extract in Chicago for more than $22,000. Stecnbarger raised all of the peppermint on one farm near here.
