MGERS AT WORN Schedule Os Sixteen Games Announced Today By Principal Paul Graham Sixteen games nre on the basket- i ball schedule of Monmouth high school, announced today by Principal Paul Graham. The team will open Its season on November 13, playing Hartfoid township at Linn Grove. Practice has been started. Last year was the first year that the Monmouth high school has played basketball, ami fine progress waS made. The high school was commissioned this year and a fourth year class was added. This is expected to help athletics in the school. The team is being coached by Hancell Foley, a graduate of Indiana University. Dempsey will give exhibitions here Wednesday and Saturday nights. Alleged Violation Os Liquor Law During Legion Convention Being Probed Omaha, Neb.. Oct. 27. — (United Press)—The federal grand jury here wants to know whether the prohibition law was violated here during the last American Legion national convention. The jury started Its search for evidence today with the calling of Robert Samardick, dry agent. He is understood to have evidence of infractions of the law. Wills following his usual style of holding with his long left arm and pounding the body at close quarters with his right had backed Johnson into his corner and was plastering him with body punches when Charley Cook, Johnson’s manager and chief second, tossed the towel in the ring.
