DePauw Holds Memorial For Edward Rector Today GreenniHtlt, Ind.. Oct. 16— Memorial services for Edward Rector, of Chicago, benefactor of DePauw University were held >ll Bowman memorial building at the university today. The services were the most impressive ever held here. Mrs. Rector will be present at the services which will honor her husband, the man who established the Rector scholarship fund which operates In practically every high school in the state. Oct. 16.— (Special.)— Traffic is now using new pavement all the way between Indianapolis and Muncie excepting a mile gap between McCordsville and Fortville, and around a bridge at Ingalls where the detour is over old No. 11, it was announced lodhy by John D. Williams, director, in the state highway com-
mission's traffic bulletin. Mr. Williams also called attention to rapid Il ogress being made In paving sec lions of state road No. 10 and that nine miles of new pavement was opened in the last lew d-ys on No. 25 between Elkhart and Middlebury. Several run arounds In force at various points along the state system duo to culvert repair and construction, have been removed, the bulletin said. Widow Is Made $11,200 Richer By Jury’s Verdict Evansville. Ind.. Oct. 16. t United Press.) — Because a jury ruled that her husband did not commit suicide but tiled by accident, Mrs. Mary Pater today is $11,200 richer. Mrs. Pater was awarded the verdict in a suit against the New York Life Insurance company which had declined to pay the policy claiming Pater ended his own life.
