“Old Ironsides” To Have Hour On Air October 17 II ■ » I Boston, Oct. 8.—"OI<I Ironside” will have a full hour of the air on the night of October 17th when Curtis D. Wilbur, Secretary of the Navy, broadcasting thrm|gh WCAP Washington hooked up to WJR Providence, WEEI Boston, WOO Philadelphia, WCAE Pittsburgh, WOR Buffalo, WWJ Detroit, WOC Davenport, WCCO Minneapolis and WSAI Cincinnati, will tell of the deeds and adventures of this famous historic treasure and formally open the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elk's Campaign to raise 1600,900 to restore this old ship. The program will open at 8:45 ami following the announcement a naval bund will give a concert for fifteen minutes and then tho Secretary of the Navy will come on the air. The naval baud will follow with another concert ami then Robert Hilliard, the well known actor, will recite Oliver Wendell Holmes’ poem “Old Ironsides.” The Marine Band wil close the program with a concert, concluding number being "The Star Spangled Banner.” In addition to this major program, the Elks In every part of the country, through the courtesy of the National Broadcasters Association, iuive arranged during "Old Ironsides Week," October 19-24. for Elks orators to be i
