CORN STALKS GROWING TILL Edwin Steele Measures One Stalk That Stands 11 Feet Above Ground •Edwin Steele, we’l known farmer 1 living in Union township on the state Vnc. claims to have the highest corn, (stalk of the season. Mr. Steele mea ured the talk and it stood fourteen feet above the‘*giound. It, has one tarfce ear on 1 «i»*lL Mr Steele ‘ftatrd that the average height, of Il’s corn would be between 11 aud 12 feet. The corn is grown from seed which Henry Kirsch, who is employed on the farm, brought from Parma. Mo With the three ears of seed corn. Mr. Steele put. out his crop. The corn is looking fine in this county. It stands hs’gh and indications point to a big yield. However, in some field the farmers state that the stalk have from two to four cars each and this will prevent the ears from ma Hiring large. It is better they say to have one and not more than two ears on a stalk. Where one oar is on the stalk it matuTes better and in the long run the yield is better. Corn cutting will begin about September 1 to September 10. it was stated. 5 o Anti-Drag Evil Worker Held For “Trafficking’ Chicago.
