A baptismal service will be 'held during the afternoon,, also- There will be preaching service at the Zion church in Honduras Sunday evening hTe public is invited to attend. o Eric Train Strikes Auto At Mercer Avenue Crossing A cut of freight cars on the Erie rairoad struck a light touring car at the Mercwr avenuf crps?|ng about 9:30 o'clock Friday night, damaging the car, but the occupants escaped without injury. The cars were being switched and the engine was backing the cars over the crossing when the accident occurred. There were two brakemen at the crosing at the time of the accident, it is said, but the driver of the automobile whose name was not learned evidently did not see the brakemen or the train.
Indianapolis Holds A Memorial For W. .1. Bryan Indianapolis, Aug. 8 — Four thousand persons, packed Cadle Tabernacle here last night for the Memorial services in honor of William Jennings Bryan. "The keynote of his life was an uncompromising tight for his ideals”, said Dixon William, of Chicago, a close personal friend of the commoner, in his memorial address. o Earthquake Shocks Felt In California Cities Los Angeles, Cal.. Aug. 8. — (United Press.) — Slight earthquake shocks were felt at Sanbernardino, Sandiego and other California cities early today. according to reports to the dispatchers office of the Santa Fe rail road here. The shocks were barely perceptible, it was said, but lasted a few seconds. 0 Railroad Not Blamed For Wreck Os Imigrant Train Washington, Aug. 8. — (nited Press) —The Delaware, Lackawanna and Western RpilroaJ. todafy whs held by the Interstate Commerce Commission to be without- blame for the accident that occurred at Hackettstown, N. J, on June 26, when an em igrant train -an into a clogged switch and‘was wrecked, killing 46 passengers and five members of the train crew. # o Holthouse-Voglewede Reunion On Sunday The second annual reunion of the Holthouse and Voglewede families will be held Sunday August 8, in the Eiting grove, southwest of Decatur. Mrs. James Fletcher and baby were discharged from the local hospital ' this morning.
