PURSE STOLEN SATURDAY NIGHT
Mrs. Ed Chronister Loses Nearly SSO In Theft At Comfort Station The bold theft of a purse, containing between $45 and SSO, from the ladies' comfort station in the court liou.se. was made about 9 o’clock Saturday night. The purse belonged to Mrs. Ed Chrouister. who resides six miles southwest of this city. The purse aud money have not been recovered, although police officials and Sheriff Baker were notified and are at work on the case. Mrs. Chronister laid her purse down on the floor of the comfort station and when she was not looking, some snatched it aud ran out of the building. Mrs. Chrouister looked just in time to see the person's hand grab the purse, but did not get sight of the person. The purse contained almut $35 or $36 in cash and a few small cheeks, totalling sll or sl2. Mrs. Chronister, .stated. Another lady who entered the comI fort station shortly after Mrs. Chronister entered, said she saw two small I boys standing outside the entrance to the comfort station when she came in. It is the belief of the officers that the boys saw Mrs. Chrouister carry the purse into the comfort station and that | they watched for a chance to enter the comfort station and snatch the purse without being noticed.
