HOSPITAL NOTES Miss Stella Stuckey, nurse at the local hospital, will begin a two weeks vacation tomorrow Miss Stuckey will spend several days at her par ental home in Berne and will enjoy a weeks outing at Celina. Van Wert C. E. Society Stages Play In Berne (Special to Daily Democrat'! Berne. July 14.—" An old-fashioned mother,” a three-act high class play, was staged at the community auditorium Saturday night. The .play which chrries a valuable moral, was given by the Christian Endeavor Society of the First I'nited Brethern chure.h of Van Wert. Ohio. A large sized crowd enjoyed the play. I'he play, which is an entertaining drama, was very skillfully played by the cast and the parts wore well acted. The action of the play takes place in Canton, New York, which is ,t small village. The entire scene of the play is staged in the front room of the home of Aunt Deborah, who is blessed old saint. She lias a son who Is led astray by evil companions, and the entire play is woven around chat plot. Special entertainment was furnished between acts by the Van Wert people. Entrance To Comfort Station Is Completed The outside entrance to the men's comfort station in the court house

Jtify K.-MtSaited Press.) — An appeal to the United States circuit court of appeals at Chicago was planned today by attorneys for the A. P. Babcock Construction company, of Fort Wayne. The construction company was permanently enjoined by Judge Slick yi federal court yesterday from cutting a ditch across the Lincoln highway east of Fort Wayne. Judge Slick held that interstate traffic_would be iuterferred with by cutting the ditch and pointed out that the government had expended $1(50.000 in building the section of road in-
volved.
