MARKETS-STOGKS Daily Report Os Local And Foreign Markets OPENING GRAIN REVIEW Chicago. July 11—(United PreHS ) —Trading in grain fufnTes opened sharply higher on the Chicago board of trade. Sentiment In wheat hinged on increasing hot weather over the spring region. With continuance of high temperatures spread of rust Is Inevitable, experts say. The foreign situation appeared to be strengtheneing. Buying in corn was based on the strong feeling in cash business and scarcity of old corn. Oats followed other grains. Buying by commission boosted provisions. Grain Price* Chicago. July If—Grain prkes soared sharply on the Chicago board of trade today. July wheat Jumped nine cents; distant futures 6% cents. Coarse grains were sharply higher, principally in sympathy with wheat There were many contributing factors to the drastic upturn In wheat, the most important of which was the heat wave that blankets the country from the Ohio river through Montana, Crop damage complaints #rom the territory in the grip of the heat wave. Cables said foreigners, who had overstayed the market in anticipation of higher prices, have been forced back into the pit by extremely low supplies.
