I o Drunk Gets Heavy Fine For Driving An Auto Indianapolis, July 2 — (United Press.)— The wheels of justice ground exceedingly fine for Pilten Weininger, of Blockton. lowa. He received the heaviest sentence on record in city court for driving an auto while intoxicated, being fined SSOO and sentenced to a year on the penal farm on two separate charges. He paid the fine and escaped the sentence by agreeing not to drive an automobile for one year.

178,831 Hoosiers File Income Tax Reports (United Press Service) Indianapolis. July 2—Net incomes totaling $525,788,474 were shown iiU 178,831 personal income tax returns complied today in the office of M. i Bert Thurman, collector of internal | revenue. 1 The total tax to bo paid on the returns is $8,159,000. Net incomes increased $99,420,000 over the previous year but the’ amount of taxes to be paid is sl.-1 418,000 less than the previous year! because of reductions ordered by congress. Only one return with a total income of more than $1,000,000 was filed. Three other incomes were over $300,000 and another was over 1 $250 000. o The Misses Lois Connell and Joe Mae Haynes, Messers, Arthur Hyland and John Clark motored to Bluffton last evening.
