Mrs.j Clgrence Berber was the assisting hostess. During a short business meeting, detailed reports of the national convention were given by the delegates, Mrs. Jack Rrunton and Mrs. Berber. At a late hour, the hostesses served delightful refreshments. The Trl Kappa sorority was entertained at the F. V. Mills home last evening with Miss Josephine Buttles and Miss Victoria Mills as hostesses. During the tmsines meeting, final ldans were made for the benefit show which Is to be given Thursday and Friday nights of this week at the Cort theater. The feature picture stars Mae Murray in ‘'Enchantment”. All the proceeds 'of this show are to be udded to the Tri Kappa Scohlarship Fund. This fund is maintained solely i for the purpose of uiding girls who J are either graduates of the Decatur High School or of some high school ,n the county, to obtain a college editcation. Tickets for the movie are being sold by all members of the sorority. Candy and pop corn balls will be sold at the doors. The forger is described as follows: “Woman, approximately 38 years old, rather heavy, five feet six inches tall, dark complexion, dark hair,* dresses as farmer lady. Easy buyer. Frequents department stores and men’s, clothing stores. Presents checks of local town, supposedly issued by her husband to her in amounts of $25. buys from $8 to $lO. Meeting his sweetheart, Miss Iris Olvey, ott a downtown corner, Werts became enraged when she refused to talk with him. He pulled her Into his automobile nnd drove away. Persons who saw the incident thought the girl hud been kidnapped and spread the alarm. A fleet of Jitney busses took up pursuit of the kidnapper and captured Werts and released his Indignant companion. Werts will face charges of assault and battery.
