Minnesota University Without Football Coach Minneapolis. Minn., May 22. — (United Press.) —Minnesota University today is without a head football coach, following announcement last night of the resignation of William H. Spaulding from that position. Reports here from Los Angeles said Spaulding had accepted a fiveyear contract as athletic dijector of the University of Southern California. •M nnesota officials refused to confirm Spaulding’s affiliation with the California University, but confirmed his resignation from the Minnesota inst’tution. They said any word regarding his acceptance of the position with Southern California must come from that college. SUMMER RESORT' IS BEING OPENED Villa Nova Is Name Os Resort On Large Reservoir I Near St. Marys, O. t — * An advertisement in tonight’s Daily i Democrat tells of the opening of Villa Nova, a beautiful summer resort about thirty miles from h>-re on the St. Marys-Celina reservoir. The new > resort Is located on the lake i shore a little more than mid-way be- ' tween St. Marys und Celina, nearest the former city. It is also located near the new state park, which is being built. The lots, most of them lake front lots, are well placed overlooking th" most beautiful part of the largest art! ficial lake in the middlowest. Villa Nova is on the north side of the Ink? and just off the state highway that connects thn two Ohio cities that border the reservoir. Many cottages are under construe-; tlon at present and plans are started , for the construction of several more t within the next few weeks. The cen tral location of the ne w resort makes it the peer of the several resorts that border the water front. The state fish hatcheries are near , Villa Nova, and for many years the ’ majority of fishermen have been tnak- 1 ing this edge of the lake their head- , quarters. It is probable that a hotel also will be erected at this point this summer. The resort project is in the hands of Mayor Neely, of St. Marys, and j other Ohio citizens who believe this ponit of the lake to lie the most favorable to cottagers. Adams county people are cordially invited to examine and inspect Villa Nova at their earliest convenience.
