Foreign Representative Carpentier & Company, U 3 Michigan Avenue, Chicago A QUESTION OF RIGHT DECISION: — It is often said of a man that he is a good business executive. What is meant by that? Simply that he has the faculty of making right dries ons. Th*: result is material success in his tin dertakings. The successful business man may seem to lead a pretty easy life. But if he has had to work his way up from a modest start that is all the evidence needed that for the most "part he has done the right thing at the right time. Head work. There is occasion to respect the faculty he posses, no matter what may be thought of how hard he does or does not work at h's job after he has gained a comfortable position in life. It is all a question of decisions, in the beginning, he finds a good many epi isions when he is called on to de- < de whether he shall stick to his job er take another. And as he continues his work, whatever it is. h.'s advancement depends on the success of his decisions, if they are sound nothing can hobl him back. Then he become* an executive, and lite nutters on which lie must pass become more and more important. Suppose he manages sales of some big firm. Shall he put on more men. and when? Shall he shift his sales force from one section to another? When and v.iiy? Suppose he is in charge of pro luclion. \\ lien shall it be increased and when decreased? How can cost be kept as low as that of competiti >rs? All through business these and mrtny similar questions come up and rmst lie answered. The successful man must know how Io answer them, and everything depends on his being right. We see the same thing on the farm, and there it is more impjrt;.nt. relatively, simply because t lore a:c more decisions to make. The fa:’,tier ordinarily is a laborer as' well us an executive. The unit, usually is not large enough to require the full time of an executive, sp the farmer v.orks with his hands as well as with In , lead. On every baud we see farmers who decide wisely the thousand and one questions that <il’ in the operation of a farming bus i-.'ss. Now and then we find one who bl tttders time ami again. His first mistake was in undertak ng farming. Tims, it is apparent tiiat success. ■.lt., ever one work, depends on 'vise ‘or Wise derisions, in turn ■i on ad sprite information. The ■: i ! step is to Im well informed. The -'•la-awake farmer is therefore in ted in the best possible source of i.fqi mation relating to his business. Chicago Daily Dover. It is no excuse.that you don't know flic law for the court does not recognize that as a defense. One of the m w laws in Indiana and one til it a good imny may be violating is that regarding the carrying of a revolver, it is now a crime for any person, other than police officers, (and this does not apply to constables) to carry .a revolver unless you have secured a permit from the county clerk; The lowest fine Is SIOO and to that may be added imprisonment. I The well is one of the deepest in I Oklahoma. “The Garber field was brought in] in 1916 and is remarkable for its, variety of oil producing sands. Whitney sand is struck at a depth of 1,300 feet, Hotson at 1,590, Walker at 1.600. Belveai at 1,700, Campbell at 1,800. Crews at 1.900 and Garber at 2,100. Some of the sands have not been i named. When the new well was being drilled, various unidentified sands were encountered below 3,200 feet. When the drillers were about to slop work, they were ordered to shut off each, | new sand and go deeper.
