CLUB CALENDAR Monday Pythian Needle (Hub— Pythian Home Tuesday Five Hundred Club—Mrs. Charles Lose, 7:30 p.m. Kirkland Ladies Club — Kirkland High School. Civic Sec Hon of Woman's ClubRest Room at Library, 7:30, The Misses Helen Swearinger and Marcella Kern united in entertaining at a pre-nuptial patty last evening ip honor of Miss Gladys Ann Butler. Covers were laid for twelve guests at the Murray Hotel dining room at seven o’clock. A large bed of sweet peas formed the eenterpiece and dainty pink and white baskets tilled with dainties were also a note of decoration. The guests were presented with miniature handkerchief brides as favors. The bride’s place was marked with a bouquet of Columbia roses and her chair was tied with a large white tulle bow. Afle/ the dinner the guests t epaired to the home of Miss Kern in Seventh street where tables were arrangd for Bridge. Miss Donna Par- | ish was awarded the prize, which she then presented to the bride elect, who was also presented with a lovely gift by the hostesses. Those present ■ besides the guest of honor included the Misses Donna Parrish, Helen Jane Meyer, Carolyn Acker, Mary Catherine Schug, Mesdames D. J. Hensley, A. F. Stalter, J. H. Schug. all of this city, and Mrs. J. R. Peterson, of Terre Haute. Miss Butler's marriage to George W. gchug will be I solemnized Tuesday morning April 28. The young couple will leave immedI iately after the-ceremony for Mobile Alabama, where they wil reside. Mr. Schug wil become manager of the Pure Oil Company there. The Kirkland Ladies Club will meet Tuesday afternoon at Kirkland High 1 school. All persons interested in sew ing club work are. urged to attend. Mrs. Adrian Wemhoff delightfully entertained the members of the Luncheon Bridge Club at her home in Fourth street last evening. Mesdams W. A. Kuebler, D. D. Clark. Bernard Terveer and Wai Wemhoff were guests besides the club members. Mrs. Lawrence Kleinhenz won the club prize and Mrs. Wemhoff was uwapded the guest prize. Mrs. Wemhoff served delectable refreshments at a late hour. The club year Closed with this meeting and will open again in eary fall. Sh«ke«peare Club Cloning 11 The forty-third annual closing of \ the I,miles Shakespeare Club was delightfully and appropriately observed last evening with a dinner at the hm Mrs. Elizabeth Morrison,! I'Htli and Jefferson streets, id which were invited one guest for each member. It Is needless to those who have enjqycd former events of this kindl to say that this one was a very happy one and the program most Interesting. As the guests arrived each was given a piece of u cartoon and to find a partner the holies and gentlemen hunted the missing "Andy” or "Min." Small tables were scattered through the rooms and at these the guests found places and enjoyed a delicious and sumptous dinner. Afterwards a very entertaining musical I rogram was given in charge of Mrs. Fred Patterson. Mis. Dan H. Tyndall and Dr. Fred Patterson each sang several beautiful solos, and Mrs. B. N. Covert gave a number of piano renditions, each of which was more than enjoyed. Mrs. H. R. Moltz was chairman of the tanner committee, assisted by Mesdames C. A. Dugan, D. W. Sprang. C. E. Peterson, J. C. Sutton, and A. D. Suttles. Mrs. Fred Patterson had charge of the program and was assisted by Mrs. Dugan. The Year Books giving the program for the next year were loaded out by Mrs. James Westveld. chaiLman of the book committee. I The Shakespeare club was organized | in 1882 and Is one of the oldest organizations of its kind in the state. The members meet each week, except during the summer months anil the programs are always of interest and great educational value. Kleinknight-Schlickman , Mrs. Jennie Schlickman and Warren G. Kleiftknight were quietly mart Ted Wednesday afternoon at two o clock at the United Brethren parsonage by Rev. B. F. Dotson. Mrs. Kleinknight is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Howard of this city, and the groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Kleinknight, of Tocsin, and is employed at the local General Electric. They will reside at a newly furnished Jtome in West Adams street. A very interesting meeting of the Delta Delphian Club was held last, evening at the Old Adams County Bank.
